4 Unique Location Ideas for you and your Partner in St Augustine Florida
Visit the oldest city in the United States of America
As someone who grew up in St Augustine and lived there for about 10 years, so I guess you can say I’m a little biased. BUT, as a professional photographer with two eyeballs, I know there are so many beautiful St Augustine photography spots that you will regret not getting photos near. I do recommend shooting at sunrise and on weekdays before the tourists swarm these locations! But here are a few reasons why you should get a photographer in St Augustine Florida while you are there!
- National Monument
One thing you can’t miss seeing when you are downtown St Augustine is the Castillo De San Marcos. This 300+ year old fort is built from “Coquina” and stands near the waterfront of the Matanzas River. With wide open spaces it is perfect for a picnic and photos, the fort is a wonderful place to spend a few hours and have an Elopement Ceremony.
- Historic Streets
There are so many beautiful streets in St Augustine with a ton of variety and color. If you like cobblestone streets with plenty of texture, this is totally for you. There’s a lot of streets such as St George Street and Aviles Street that are popular to walk down, which are closer to the town square, as well as Magnolia Street near the fountain of youth a few minutes down the road. Magnolia Street has a ton of depth and gorgeous tree canopy. It is a super beautiful street that is very popular for photos!
- Beautiful beaches
Don’t forget that you will be on the east coast of Florida which means the sun will be setting on this side of the state. Get gorgeous sunset images on the sandy beaches. If you are looking for a beach with rocks I would recommend heading 30 minutes south to Washington Oaks Gardens State Park.
- Sailboat Charters
I can’t think of one St Augustine wedding photographer who wouldn’t be super excited to shoot Engagement or Elopement portraits on a sailboat with you. St augustine Municipal Marina dock is also a beautiful area to get some shots.
The best part about having your own local photographer in St Augustine FL is that I can be your tour guide too! Happy Shooting!
