How to Find the Perfect Engagement Spot for your Photos
So you’ve found a few locations on instagram that you love for your Engagement Photos. You have them saved, you’re showing your fiancé, but you guys are having trouble picking one. You love them all but you’re not sure which one to choose.. Here are a few questions to consider when choosing:
Things to Consider when coordinating your Engagement Portraits
- Weather & Terrain: If you are choosing a location but theres an unexpected rain delay, does this location have dry covered areas? Is there a lot of mud? Will it be hard to walk in my heels? If you are driving far you might want to consider these so you don’t have to drive there again or reschedule.
- Timing: Its a good idea to have your Engagement location 3 hours away from you during sunrise when you both aren’t usually risers? Most likely not haha. The logistics just don’t work out in your favor that way. It is nice to be convenient but that doesn’t mean you have to be convenient. But you should consider whats realistic.
- Distance: How far do you guys plan on driving? Do you want to stay local or go somewhere else to find a local photographer in that area?
- Outfit Coordinations: Don’t wait until the last minute to pick out an outfit to wear, because you might stick out like a sore thumb if you’re wearing the wrong clothing. Do you have an outfit picked out that you specifically wanted for your Engagement photos? If so, which location does it best fit with? Do you have a type of style that works well with certain locations?
- Location Representation: Knowing your relationship the best, which location best suits you’re relationships and interests? Are you guys nature people, beach people, or city people? Do you want to go somewhere familiar or unfamiliar?
All images were taken near at Lake Louisa State Park in Clermont Florida about 30-45 minutes West of Orlando FL. Shoutout to Abbie and Elias for picking this amazing location for their anniversary portraits. We had so much fun!
Portrait Sessions
I care about your love and representing your milestones in the most natural and creative way possible, on top of a super fun experience. Seeing clients reactions to their photographs when they labeled themselves as "non-photogenic" is the most rewarding part of what I do. As a photographer with years of experience in the service industry, I do my best to make your experience as enjoyable as I would want for myself. I can't wait to start working together. ~ Shaya
